When the Fujifilm Instax Mini Instant Camera first came out, it was a must-have item for nearly every young teenager. Raised in a time of social media and digital photography, none of us thought there could be technology that would let us take and print pictures immediately. That’s why this camera was a revelation. And it is so simple to operate: one click and we have our very own photograph in seconds.
One of the advantages for those my age is the selfie mirror. We can check our framing with the mirror next to the lens for great selfies. The close-up lens allows us to take pictures from 35 cm away. We may take pictures with a softer impression by setting the brightness adjustment dial to the high-key mode. There are 5 colors available: cobalt blue, ice blue, flamingo pink, lime green and smokey white.
That said, I would not recommend purchasing the Instant Camera. I have to admit that it is a great present for kids. But the pictures are printed at a low resolution. I have a hard time adjusting the light. There is no way to stop the deterioration of color and sharpness.
A mobile printer is something that I have wanted for months. But there are so many brands and models in the market. After comparison, the Fujifilm INSTAX Share SP-2 Mobile Printer became my favorite. It has many advantages over other models.
First, it allows me to edit pictures on my phone before printing them. Compared to the previous model, I can even print images from my Instagram and Facebook accounts now. I always add filters to my pictures so that the colors look more vivid. It only takes 3 steps to print out the pictures: open the free “instax SHARE” app, select the picture that you want to print, and click on the “print” icon. The new laser exposure system prints out pictures in only 10 seconds compared to 16 seconds for the old version. (Also, it goes about printing much more quietly).
Don’t sleep on this printer’s superb image quality. It features high resolution with print pixels of 800 x 600 dots and of 320 dpi for showing detailed gradations and facial expressions. The package comes with a micro-USB port that can be used to recharge the battery.
I also really like the reprint button. If I really like a picture and want to share it with my friends, the only thing I need to do is push the reprint button. I do not need to select the picture again from my phone, which is very convenient.
Personally, I prefer the mobile printer over the Instant Camera even though it is a little bit more expensive than the Instant Camera. Its size is smaller than the Instant Camera, which means I can easily carry it with me. In addition, its picture resolution is much higher than the Instant Camera. Most importantly, I can edit the pictures before printing out.
