Although there have been many innovative kitchen gadgets to hit the market in recent years, very few have truly changed the way we cook. For every Always Pan and Instant Pot, there have been many more electric can openers and mini waffle makers. Fun novelty products to be sure, but not exactly revolutionary.
This silicone pot strainer has a chance to break the mold. Straining the liquid out of pasta or another dish has always been a bit of a hassle. You might have a strainer insert that you can put into a pot before dumping, but that likely only fits the pot from the set it came with. Or if you are like me, you typically rely on a colander, which you place in the sink before dumping the entire contents of your pot into. Every so often you end up with a bit of a mess.
The Zulay pot strainer insert solves these problems. Because of its material, it is flexible and can be attached to pots and pans of almost any size. Because it attaches, you don’t need to switch your pasta or whatever else you are cooking to an entirely new vessel. In that same vein, you don’t have to worry about your food being contaminated with whatever else has been in your sink.
Also important since we are dealing with food prep, the Zulay pot strainer is dishwasher safe, so cleanliness is a big factor here. It is so cheap (just $12!) that you have to wonder why it is not already in every kitchen in America. Judging by the glowing reception it’s gotten in its customer reviews to date, I expect that to change soon enough.
