I don’t know what the weather has been like where you live. But here in our nation’s capital, the last two days have offered its residents the platonic ideal of fall weather. Seventy degrees, sunny, with just a hint of a seasonal breeze, it’s like the soggy dog days of summer never even happened. Besides putting everyone in a good mood, the weather also has people dreaming of autumnal activities. One of these activities in bonfires, and with bonfires come the ever decadent, delectable treats known as s’mores.
Of course, not everyone has access to a bonafide bonfire every fall. Those people should not be deprived of s’mores! Thus, the indoor s’more machine was born:
The indoor s’more maker is perfect if you live in an apartment or a dorm, and since it uses electric coils to produce heat, it is completely safe. You don’t need to worry about an open flame. Even if you do have a backyard, there are plenty of reasons to add this relatively inexpensive device to your collection of kitchen gadgets. For example, sometimes it gets too cold outside to make s’mores. Or perhaps you don’t want to spend hundreds of dollars on a fire pit, which not only takes up a lot of space but also may not survive the elements and last very long.
In the past, I’ve jury-rigged s’more by melting marshmallows in the microwave. It is just not the same. The s’more maker will do a much better job of creating the real thing. Now, if you will excuse me, writing this post has me craving s’mores.
