An Electric Bottle Opener Keeps Cork Out Of Your Wine
You’ve just finished a long day of work. You are exhausted, and the only thing getting you through the last few hours of the day was the promise of a glass of wine as soon as humanly possible. Still in a bit of a haze from the day’s labor, you absentmindedly grab a bottle from you wine rack and carelessly start to uncork it with your corkscrew. Using an electric wine opener is such a no-brainer, I am having trouble even fathoming arguments against getting one. I can only think of with any merit—a regular old corkscrew gets the job done fine. In other words, why add another kitchen gizmo to the countertop? That is fair, but as the example at the beginning of the article indicates, the traditional corkscrew will always carry with it some degree of risk. It is unable to eliminate the possibility of human error. By reducing the human component to pressing a button, an electric wine opener does.
I supposed another excuse for not owning an electric wine opener might deal with the price. Because an electric wine opener is such an efficient piece of technology, it must be expensive, right?
